Could you please tell me about implants under the scope of esthetics dentistry? What is an implant?

Dental implant is tissue-friendly miniature screw which is made of titanium. Dental implants may be thought of as artificial tooth roots which allow the fabricated teeth to be firmly attached to the mouth. They may be used to replace all teeth missing in a jaw or just to replace one or several missing teeth. The treatment choices can vary tremendously. All surgery, tooth fabrication and other specialty work are performed in our office. We also offer an exceptional variety of different implant techniques. This allows us to customize a course of treatment specifically for you. There are three classes of dental implants:

1. implants that attach to the gum only (intra-mucosal inserts),
2. implants that attach within bone (endosteal screws or blades),
3. implants that attach on top of bone (subperiosteals). 

This technique has been applied for 15 years in Turkey and for 40 years in the world. I should strongly mention that this operation is very plain and painless.

For whom can implant be applied to?

If the patient is healthy enough for tooth deduction , if the patient is a grown up (lower age limit is 23), if the patient does not suffer from an illness which can not be controlled (diabetic etc), if the patient has total prosthesis, if there is a missing tooth you are a potential candidate for dental implant. There is no upper age limit.

Is implant application special to a particular patient?

The class of implant chosen for each patient depends upon a complex interaction between functional and cosmetic needs, available bone, quality and quantity of remaining teeth, emotional temperament, treatment time and finances.
